Eric Church, Train Join Zac Brown’s Southern Ground Fest
It’s the perfect combination for fans of eclectic music and culinary delights! The Zac Brown Band have just announced more information for the highly-anticipated Southern Ground Music and Food Festival. The event, which will be held October 21 – 23, will feature performances each night by the award-winning band, along with a wide range of additional acts.
Joining the ‘Knee Deep’ singers will be Eric Church, Train, My Morning Jacket, the Del McCoury Band, Steel Pulse, the Warren Haynes Band, and Brett Dennen, plus other artists on Zac’s Southern Ground label, including Nic Cowan, Sonia Leigh, the Wood Brothers, Levi Lowrey and Blackberry Smoke.
In addition to the all-star musical experience, enhanced by a custom-designed video projection screen to ensure every seat has an optimal view, the three-day festival will spotlight food from Zac and several high-profile chefs. The activity packed event is one the ZBB frontman is closely involved in helping to create.
“[Zac] wants it to be an experience like nothing else out there,” performer Levi Lowrey tells The Boot. “It’s going to be that times one hundred! He’s going to be part of it all. There are no limitations, creatively. He has complete control, whereas sometimes you can’t do an Eat & Greet at some festivals because there’s no space and it’s hard with security or whatever. This one, he has complete control over, and that’s where he’s going to shine because he can express himself creatively. It’s inspiring to see his drive.”
The Southern Ground Music and Food Festival will be held at Blackbaud Stadium in Charleston, S.C. Tickets go on sale on Saturday, September 10, and can be purchased here.
The Georgia band just wrapped up performing select dates for Kenny Chesney on his Goin’ Coastal tour, and are now crossing the country headlining their own concerts. The guys play in Colorado tonight (September 6), followed by shows in Idaho and Washington. Keep track of their itinerary here.
