Add "TV host" to Willie Nelson's resume. The singer, songwriter, author, activist and actor will host a new TV show, 'Inside Arlyn,' which will include interviews and performances with both musical legends and new artists.

The 13-episode series, which is still in development, will include appearances by Merle Haggard, Gary Clark, Jr. and others, filmed at the famed Arlyn Studios in Austin, Texas.

"It's going to unfold organically, so we'll see as we go," Aryln Studios co-owner Lisa Fletcher tells CultureMap. "They're going to hang out and chat."

When the concept for the show materialized, the 81-year-old seemed like a perfect fit.

"He's our family, for one thing, and he's very involved in our whole world," Fletcher adds, noting that Nelson is also her uncle-in-law. "He was our first choice."

Renowned news journalist Dan Rather has already agreed to do a joint interview with Nelson and Haggard, and more artists are expected to be announced shortly. While 'Inside Arlyn' is still without a distributor, several cable outlets have already expressed interest in the series.

"I'm so over the moon that we can share it," Fletcher adds. "People don't get to go in recording studios, let alone sit on the floor with Willie and Merle right in front of them."

Nelson and Haggard are currently in the studio working on a new collaborative album. More information on 'Inside Arlyn,' when available, will be posted here.
