Willie Nelson's output of albums during his career is perhaps only rivaled by the number (and caliber) of the songs he's written and had recorded by other artists -- and the eclectic rosters of fellow artists with whom he's collaborated through the years. In May, the soon to be 79-year-old legend will release 'Heroes,' an album on which he performs with Merle Haggard, Ray Price, Kris Kristofferson, Billy Joe Shaver, Jamey Johnson, his sons Micah and Lukas Nelson, and hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg. And while his collaborative efforts have known no bounds, the iconic entertainer does have one more potential duet partner on his wish list.

"One of these days, Barbra Streisand and I are going to do a song together," Willie tells the Reno Gazette-Journal. "We haven't run across the right song yet."

With regard to his not-altogether-unlikely pairing with Snoop on 'Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die,' which also features Jamey and Kris, Willie notes that he and Snoop are "old buddies" who've played shows together through the years, adding, "I'm going to do something with him again in April. Not sure what it is. I think he wants me to sing on something. We've been hanging out together for many years."

Willie also reveals that he and his sister, Bobbie Nelson, who has played piano in his band and on many of his albums, are working together on a CD that should be out around Christmas time.

"We did songs I have written over the years," says Willie. "Like 'December Day,' 'Will You Remember Mine?,' 'Summer of Roses,' 'My Own Peculiar Way.'"

While he shows no signs of retiring -- or slowing down -- Willie did call it quits briefly in 1972, before rebounding with the critically-acclaimed 'Shotgun Willie.' He jokes that had he not returned to music, he might have taken up bank-robbing as a profession.

"I'm a lazy guy," notes the singer/songwriter/actor/activist. "I've tried getting up in the morning and punching a clock like a lot of great people do every day, but it just wasn't for me. I'm a night guy. It's a good thing I have something to do at night."

Willie has plenty to keep him occupied on several upcoming nights. Check out his tour schedule here.
