Will Ferrell Gives Parenting Advice to Keith and Nicole

Funnyman Will Ferrell has some advice for new parents Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman.

"Talk to your children at least once a week," Ferrell joked to PEOPLE magazine at the premiere of his new movie, 'Step Brothers.' "If you've got time, do it two or three times a week . . . But otherwise, I find the times where I let weeks and weeks go by without talking to my children, that adds up."

Ferrell, the father of two young sons himself, was kidding, of course. But he says his sense of humor isn't rubbing off on his kids. Asked if 4-year-old Magnus and 1-year-old Mattias are little comedians themselves, Ferrell responded, "No, they're not funny. They're deadly serious."

Kidding again . . . hopefully!

PEOPLE actually broke the news to Ferrell about the July 7 birth of Urban and Kidman's daughter, Sunday Rose Kidman Urban. He offered his 'Bewitched' co-star and her country crooning husband a hearty congratulations.
