Jimmy WayneThis weekend (Jan. 16), Jimmy Wayne takes a break from his 'Meet Me Halfway' trek halfway across America, to headline the 40th Annual West Texas Rehabilitation telethon. Other performers throughout the evening include Texas legend Red Steagall, The Boys in the Bunkhouse, Bill and Susan Hayes ('Days of Our Lives') and Brad Maule ('General Hospital'). Charlie Chase, longtime co-host of the popular 'Crook and Chase' talk show, will return for the 10th year to host the five-hour special, which raises money for people who can't otherwise afford physical therapy and other rehabilitation services.

In addition to the telethon, an internet auction of merchandise and services will take bids on their website. Bids started last month and will continue through the Jan. 16 broadcast. Auction items include everything from a signed Dallas Cowboys poster to a speed boat.

The annual telethon and auction raise more than $1 million to help make it possible for the West Texas Rehabilitation Center to serve more than 23,000 men, women and children regardless of their financial circumstance. The Center was established in 1953 as a private non-profit outpatient rehabilitation center and has since become one of the largest, most comprehensive facilities of its kind in the nation. The Rehab currently operates facilities in Abilene, San Angelo and Ozona, Texas.

The Rehab 2010 telethon can be seen on television stations throughout Texas and parts of Oklahoma. This year, for the first time ever, the show can also be viewed online at West Texas Rehab's website. The event is scheduled to start at 7:00 PM CST from the Abilene Civic Center. Tickets are just $12 each and can be purchased at the West Texas Rehabilitation Center.
