During Universal Music Group's luncheon at the 2017 Country Radio Seminar, Vince Gill treated the assembled crowd to "the newest song I've written" -- an unreleased song inspired by his wife, Amy Grant.

Readers can press play above to hear Gill's song for Grant, written as a birthday gift "because I had not gotten anything good for her birthday." The song's chorus says "When my Amy prays / When my Amy prays / That's when I feel His grace."

"I had to be pretty truthful, and I had to be somewhat vulnerable for myself," Gill says of the song. "We both grew up in completely different lights: She grew up in a church house, 2-3 times a week, and I grew up in beer joints, and we had completely different family experiences and whatnot. She had this great church life, and I had no church life."

Gill and Grant have been married since 2000; it is the second marriage for both artists.

During UMG's CRS 2017 luncheon, which took place at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on Thursday (Feb. 23), Gill also shared the stage with Keith Urban and Chris Stapleton for a jam session during Urban's "Blue Ain't Your Color." Gill's performance of his song for Grant followed Stapleton's stage time.

"I was the only one who volunteered to sing after Chris Stapleton," Gill joked. "I'm a dumba--, [but] I love that boy's voice ..."
