Back in June, Loretta Lynn was inducted into the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame. A television special featuring that event's tributes and musical performances is scheduled to premiere on Saturday (Oct. 3), but you don't have to wait until then to see one of the evening's best sets: The Boot has an exclusive premiere of Vince Gill and Patty Loveless' performance of "After the Fire Is Gone," a tribute to Lynn.

It isn't every day that two fantastic country artist cover a Conway Twitty / Lynn classic. Gill and Loveless, both seasoned country music professionals, switch back and forth on lead vocals during the song's verses and harmonize with ease, exchanging smiles throughout the tune. Their flawless performance should come as no surprise: Gill has previously called Loveless "one of [my] most seamless-sounding [duet] partners."

At the end of the clip, the two artists embrace in a warm hug and bow to exhilarated applause from the audience. Press play on the video above to watch their performance.

The all-star lineup at the 2015 Austin City Limits Hall of Fame induction ceremony also included Lyle Lovett, Jason Isbell, Dwight Yoakam, Gillian Welch and more. In addition to his duet with Loveless, Gill performed "Take Me Back to Tulsa" with inductees Asleep at the Wheel; Loveless, meanwhile, lent her voice to Lynn's "Don't Come Home a'Drinkin' (With Lovin' on Your Mind)," and the evening's entire cast returned to the stage for a classic song from inductee Townes Van Zandt, "White Freightliner Blues."

In addition to Lynn, Asleep at the Wheel and Van Zandt, songwriter Guy Clark and Tex-Mex accordionist Flaco Jiménez were inducted into the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame this year. Each inductee has performed multiple times on the famed Austin City Limits TV show.

The 2015 Austin City Limits Hall of Fame TV special will air on PBS on Oct. 3 at 9PM ET; check the Austin City Limits website for local broadcast information. Immediately following the initial broadcast, the episode will be available for a limited time on PBS' website.
