Vince Gill is about to have a new title — grandfather! The singer’s daughter, Jenny Gill, and her husband, Josh Van Valkenburg, have announced they are expecting a child.

The couple married in 2010. Jenny Gill is the only child of Vince and his first wife, Sweethearts of the Rodeo singer Janis Oliver. Van Valkenburg, who previously worked at EMI, was a childhood friend of Jenny.

“Josh and I are so excited to be parents!” she writes on her Facebook page. “I am 18 weeks along which makes me due in mid August. Will keep you posted.”

The mother-to-be inherited her parents’ musical genes. She has sung with both her famous father and her step-mother, Amy Grant, and is working on her own album.

“The most important thing for me, as her father, is that she succeeds or fails on her own terms, and not because of me,” her proud father says.

This will be the first child for the couple. Congratulations to the parents-to-be!
