Uncle Kracker lets his lyrics take center stage in his brand-new video for 'My Hometown.' Hiring animators instead of actors, the country-pop-rocker brings his lyrics to life in the clip for his very personal new song.

"I feel a strong connection to my hometown ... hell, I grew up there and never left," Uncle Kracker tells The Boot. "I'm proud of where I come from -- town, state and country. But I spend a lot of time on the road, and I can see that we're all pretty much the same. We have different accents, different industries, different weather maybe, but we're all just trying to live our lives, pay our bills, give our kids a better life and have some good times."

'My Hometown' will be featured on Uncle Kracker's upcoming album, 'Postcards From Home,' due early next year. The musician calls the sound of the new project "indescribable," explaining that he tried to blur genre lines to appeal to more fans.

"I don't know how to describe it, to be honest with you," he tells Billboard of the upcoming disc. "I hate the word 'Americana,' so I won't use it. I don't even know what Americana is, exactly. I can't say this is a country record, but I can't say it's a pop record, either. The last record [2009's 'Happy Hour'] I could tell you was a pop/rock record. This one is just ... fun. Put it in the Super Fun section."
