Tyler Farr will be returning to the stage for the first time following his microlaryngeal surgery on Sunday (May 15) -- and the best part? The show will be free!

The singer will perform at Nashville's Tootsie's Orchid Lounge on Sunday at 7:30PM CT. On Twitter, Farr notes that he worked at the famed venue when he first moved to Nashville, so the event will be a bit of a full-circle moment.

"Seems fitting to have my first show be back where it started!” Farr writes.

Farr has previously explained that his vocal troubles began last summer. In the fall, the classically trained artist was forced to cancel a show in Oxford, Ohio, at the last minute due to a battle with bronchitis; thanks to that ER visit, doctors were able to identify the source of his discomfort: a polyp on his vocal cords. The requirement of complete vocal rest following his surgery earlier this year forced Farr to drop off the 2016 Life Off My Years Tour.

“This is the last thing I would’ve ever expected. I sing hard, and I give it everything I have every night, but I really believed I was putting my training to work,” Farr said at the time. “… I know what it takes to get out there and really deliver. I hate cancelling shows … but I never want to give the fans less than everything … And I know the sooner I let my body heal, the sooner I can get back out there — and the fewer problems I will have in the long run."
