Travis Tritt will take the stage at famed Austin nightclub Antone's on April 20, to play the free Green Apple Thank You Concert in conjunction with this year's Earth Day activities. As with other Thank You shows happening around the country, Tritt's concert audience will be made up entirely of volunteers who participate in simultaneous environmental volunteer actions during the Earth Day weekend.

Other artists participating in Green Apple shows around the country include the rock group Cracker and funk-jazz jam band Galactic. Each act will perform their show with yet-to-be-announced guest stars, ensuring a unique experience for the invited volunteers.

Also scheduled on April 19 will be Earth Day on the Mall in Washington, D.C. Performers for that event will be announced soon.

Now in its fourth year, the Green Apple Festival expanded to eight cities in 2008, drawing more than 200,000 people to participate in volunteer events and attend the free concerts. Volunteer events in each participating city are listed at the Green Apple Festival website. Fans interested in attending the concerts can sign up to participate in a volunteer project at Planet Green. Projects are designed to bring together active lifestyle activities with green solutions, and include work on tree plantings, urban gardens, water protection and more.
