Trace Adkins brought a Celtic flair with his performance of 'I Saw Three Ships' for the CMA Country Christmas on Monday night (Dec. 2).

Alyth McCormack's lilting soprano kicked off the song with an Irish version of the tune, before Adkins joined in with his deep baritone voice. They were joined by a simple acoustic band, including a violin and flute.

The song is included on Adkins' recent Christmas album, 'The King's Gift,' which includes plenty of Celtic influences.

“This is the first Christmas record I’ve ever made, and I am so proud of this Christmas record, probably more proud of this than anything that I’ve possibly ever done with the exception of some of those really deep, profound military songs that pay tribute to heroes,” Adkins says. “But other than that, I think, for my money, this record has more depth than anything — and it’s a Christmas record. I love this record.”
