About two years ago, Toby Keith spoke out in defense of President Obama and his role as Commander-in-Chief, but now it seems the 'Made in America' singer has decided to support the opposing party in next year's election. Toby recently donated the maximum allowed, $2,500, to Republican nominee Rick Perry, only a little more than two weeks after the reigning Governor of Texas announced his bid for the White House.

The Oklahoma native admits that, while he appreciates what President Obama has done for the military, his handling of the economy makes him think another person might be better suited for the job.

"The military part of it has been wonderful," he reasoned on the 'Joy Behar Show.' "The economy, though, because it's what I'm worried most about -- I know our military is going to be good. I see them every day. I worry most about the economy."

Still, while he is a registered Independent, the 50-year-old concedes the role of President is an almost impossible one to fill. "Have you noticed that whoever takes it, in our lifetime anyway ... it doesn't take them long to start aging, does it?" he questions. "'It's difficult being the president of the United States, I don't care who you are."

Toby Keith just released his 15th studio album, 'Clancy's Tavern,' which is currently resting at the top of the country charts. The second single from the album, 'Red Solo Cup,' which is rumored to be included in an upcoming episode of 'Glee,' is the week's most downloaded digital track in country music.

Toby is currently overseas, where he will perform in the Netherlands tonight, followed by shows in Germany and Finland. Keep track of his world travels here.
