On Saturday (March 24), thousands of people rallied in Washington, DC; Nashville, Tenn.; and elsewhere as part of the March for Our Lives, a series of rallies focused on gun control legislation. On social media, a few country stars shared their participation in the events and voiced their support for those marching.

On Friday (March 23), Faith Hill encouraged her Instagram followers to "[g]et out and march!!!!!!!" and to "listen to the children of this country."

"They are the future," Hill adds, "and they will fight to make sure their future is protected."

Hill's husband, Tim McGraw, shared TV footage from the Washington, DC, march on his social media platforms on Saturday. Both McGraw and Hill have previously spoken out in support of "common sense" gun laws, and in early March, McGraw used social media to praise the chain stores that decided to alter their firearms sales rules following the Feb. 14 school shooting in Parkland, Fla.

"These kids are an inspiration. They are the hope of our world," McGraw wrote on Instagram about the March for Our Lives. "No matter what, you have to applaud and appreciate their spirit, and their fortitude! I say right on!"

A fellow country artist, Natalie Maines, was in Washington, DC, on Saturday to participate in the March for Our Lives there; on Instagram, she writes that she "[c]an’t wait to stand with my family and friends for sanity in America." Little Big Town's Jimi Westbrook and Karen Fairchild, too, were marching, in Sioux City, Iowa.

Rosanne Cash, meanwhile, chose to participate in the New York City-based March for Our Lives; on Instagram, she shared a few scenes from the rally, which she attended with some friends. Cash has long been a supporter of gun control; following October's Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting, she condemned country music's connections to the NRA in a New York Times op-ed.

While Brandi Carlile was marching in Seattle (with the Dave Matthews Band, no less!), Jason Isbell was unable to attend due to his touring schedule. However, via Twitter, he shared some words of support.

"Supporting everyone who took to the streets today to #marchforourlives," Isbell wrote. "I wish I could’ve been there, but we’re touring in Australia, a country where they don’t really have this particular problem."

These artists are not the only ones who have spoken out in support of the March for Our Lives participants and organizers. On Monday (March 19), Garth Brooks shared his own words of encouragement for the marchers, specifically organizer Emma Gonzalez, and in a rare political statement, country-turned-pop superstar Taylor Swift shared on Instagram that she's made a donation to help the March for Our Lives' efforts.
