Tim McGraw is increasing the anticipation for the September release of his latest album, 'Sundown Heaven Town,' with a brand-new song, as part of his previously-announced Countdown to Sundown. The singer will debut a tune from the upcoming record during the live finale of 'The Voice,' which will air on Tuesday night (May 20).

As part of the Countdown to Sundown, fans can use the Shazam app during his performance, which will give them access to exclusive content. Immediately following his performance, fans will be able to purchase the track at digital retailers.

The Louisiana native kicked off his Sundown Heaven Town Tour last week, well in advance of the new set of tunes. But McGraw says he put plenty of thought into the best way to share the music with his loyal fans.

“When you finish making an album, all you want is to have everyone hear it as soon as possible,” he explains. “I’m in the unique position this year that I’m able to tour ahead of the album and introduce the fans to these songs early. I’ve never done anything like this before, but in a world driven by immediate gratification, I want to be able to play a song live somewhere and then have it available for download right then. You just never know where new music might pop up over the next few months… It’s going to be a fun summer!”

In addition to his performance on 'The Voice,' McGraw will sing on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' on May 20, and will perform on Friday (May 23) in New York City as part of the 'Today' Summer Concert Series.

His Sundown Heaven Town Tour, which includes Kip Moore and Cassadee Pope as his opening acts, heads to Maine, New York and Massachusetts later this month. See a list of all of his upcoming shows here.

'Sundown Heaven Town' is set for release on Sept. 16.
