Thomas Rhett is celebrating his first No. 1 hit with ‘It Goes Like This’ -- but the song marks producer Michael Knox' 13th produced single to reach country music’s top spot.

Knox says he is excited about Rhett's first chart-topper.

“It’s really cool to be a part of an artist's first number one," Knox says in a press release. "It was great getting to cut some songs with Thomas. I'm a big fan of him as an artist, but also a writer.”

Knox also produced Jason Aldean’s ‘Night Train,’ which hit the top of the charts earlier this month. It is the 12th single Aldean and Knox have worked on together that has gone to No. 1.

Knox is most well known for working with Aldean, but he has been elected to the 2013-2014 ACM Board of Directors and has also done work with a variety of artists, including Trace Adkins, Kelly Clarkson, Ludacris, Luke Bryan and Eric Church, Montgomery Gentry and Hank Williams Jr.

As for Rhett, he is thrilled with his newfound success. “I am so humbled and honored to have a No. 1 at country radio with this song. The response from fans and radio has been overwhelming,” he states (quote via Nashville.com). “This is just one of those very special songs, the moment I heard it I knew it would be a game changer. It has been incredible to hear people singing the words back to me from the audience every night.”

Rhett and his father, singer-songwriter Rhett Akins, recently made chart history when five of the current Top 10 singles were written, co-written or sung by one of them.
