Though the Band Perry are in a tight race for the coveted Grammy award for Best New Artist, Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry are shining examples of true southern charm, offering well wishes to one of their fellow nominees, rapper Nicki Minaj.

"We're huge fans of Nicki Minaj," Reid reveals to MTV. "We think she's brought a lot to music -- and good luck to her!"

The trio's leading lady echoes her younger brother's support for the 'Super Bass' singer. "We didn't get to meet her tonight. I was looking forward to that. I want to talk to her about that pink hair. I'm in love with it. It's fantastic. Katy Perry is doing it tonight, too. It's the new thing. Next time you see us, all three of us, pink hair," jokes the blond beauty.

The 'If I Die Young' singers will go head-to-head with Nicki, as well as Bon Iver, J. Cole and Skrillex during the Feb. 12 ceremony. The siblings, who performed during the Grammy nominations concert, were surrounded by the entire Perry clan when their nomination was revealed.

"Our parents were here with us tonight, so we all hugged, and I cried a little bit, and the second thing that popped into my mind was, 'What a diverse category!'" Kimberly shares. "There's so many genres represented in the new artist batch, and we're really honored to represent country in that."

The Band Perry had a breakout year in 2011, with their massive No. 1 single, 'If I Die Young,' eventually selling three million digital singles, as well as garnering Top 20 crossover airplay on the pop charts. The single later won Single and Song of the Year during last month's CMA Awards. The band's platinum, self-titled debut album also spawned their band's gold-selling, Top 5 single, 'You Lie,' as well as their current Top 20 chart climber, 'All Your Life.'

"The album is starting to take shape, and we've been taking writers out on the road all the time," Neil says on the band's next project. "It's growing up just a little bit, not too much. But it's gonna be really fun." The band is expected to release their sophomore album in 2012.
