After getting the 2014 ACM Awards off to a scorching start with a performance of 'Chainsaw,' the Band Perry earned one of the biggest honors of their careers by capturing the Vocal Group of the Year award.

Kimberly, Neil, and Reid Perry beat out the Eli Young Band, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, and the Zac Brown Band to earn Vocal Group honors for the first time. Their recognition came largely on the strength of their album 'Pioneer,' which has now produced four hit singles.

In their acceptance speech, Kimberly recalled how the group had come a long way since the days when there were more people on stage at their concerts than in the crowd. She said, "This is a mountaintop moment for the Band Perry, and we appreciate it so much because we started at the bottom of the mountain 15 years ago."
