After Taylor Swift wraps up her 1989 World Tour in mid-December, she may step away from the spotlight for a bit.

"I think I should take some time off," the country-turned-pop superstar tells NME magazine (quote via Metro.co.uk). "People might need a break from me."

Since releasing her debut album, Taylor Swift, in 2006, the singer-songwriter has consistently released new music every two years, in addition to hitting the road on four major tours, three of which lasted for more than a year. Swift is also very active on social media and attends many major awards shows each year, so it makes sense that she would want some downtime to herself.

"I’m going to hang out with friends. Write new music. Maybe not write new music," she continues. "I don’t know."

In the new interview, Swift also sounds off on her relationship with Kayne West ("Me and Kanye are on such good terms now ...") and what she learned from a recent clash on Twitter with Nicki Minaj ("... I send text messages now"). She also explains how her mother, Andrea -- who was recently diagnosed with cancer -- still helps keep her grounded.

"If you let your anxiety get the better of you, like everybody’s waiting for you to really mess up, then you’ll be done," Swift explains. "A lot of the time I call my mom and talk for a really long time, just to remind myself of all the things that are great and that matter."
