In next month's edition of Cosmopolitan UK magazine, Taylor Swift opens up about scary stalkers and the team of people she has hired to keep her safe. Breaking news today proves the importance of that team, as a man was caught trespassing at a Nashville home believed to be owned by the music superstar.

Nashville CBS affiliate NewsChannel 5 reports that 24-year-old Jacob Kulke was arrested early this morning (Dec. 14) for climbing a fence at an estate that sources say Taylor bought for her parents. Records show the house, in Nashville's exclusive Belle Meade neighborhood, was purchased in 2011 for $2.5 million, with a trustee listed as the buyer.

The culprit, who was in possession of a pocket knife, told police that he was dating someone who lived at the home and that he had taken a bus all the way from Wisconsin to surprise his "girlfriend" for her birthday. Taylor's 23rd birthday was yesterday (Dec. 13). A Twitter account believed to be owned by Kulke shows a post Thursday wishing the Grammy winner a happy birthday, while a tweet the day before says, "Had to go see about a girl."

Kulke was caught by security before he was able to make contact with anyone in the Swift family, though it is not clear whether the singer's parents actually live on the property. Taylor, whose own primary residence is in a tightly secured, high-rise condo building in Nashville, was photographed in England yesterday with new beau Harry Styles of One Direction.

Kulke is being held on $10,000 bond. This is not his first run-in with the law. TMZ has uncovered that he was convicted of battery, disorderly conduct and drug possession in 2010 in Wisconsin. NewsChannel 5 additionally reports that Kulke was arrested this past April in Colorado for second degree burglary, and that there is a warrant out for his arrest for probation violation in Colorado.
