Taylor Swift Debuts New Song and Video, Reveals Album Details in Yahoo Live Stream

Taylor Swift's secrets are out: During her worldwide Yahoo live stream, she revealed a new song and video, as well as the details of a new album.

In front of a group of "very dedicated and incredible" fans hand-picked to be in studio for the event, the songstress began by sharing that she had three big surprises, "but I really, really, really like the one at the end."

The first surprise? She debuted a new song, 'Shake It Off.' Co-written and produced by Max Martin and Shellback, the team behind 'I Knew You Were Trouble,' the tune is pure pop -- and, Swift says, like nothing she's ever done before.

"I've had to learn a pretty tough lesson in the past couple years that people can say whatever they want about at any time, and we cannot control that," she said. "The only thing we can control is our reaction to that ... You can either let it get to you ... [or] you just shake it off."

Next up, the second surprise: Her fifth studio album will be called '1989' and is due out Oct. 27.

"I've been working on a new album for two years," Swift said during the live stream. "I like to work on albums for two years because I feel like two years is enough time for you to grow ... and in the process of all of those changes that have happened in the past two years, my music changed."

Swift called the new album "the most sonically cohesive album I've ever made" and her "first ever documented official pop album," inspired by a lot of late-'80s pop music. "I really loved the chances they were taking," she said of the genre's sound.

Swift's final surprise was the reveal of the video for 'Shake It Off.' Directed by Mark Romanek, the brains behind Johnny Cash's 'Hurt,' the visual features Swift dancing among many styles of professional dancers.

"I wanted to tie this to this metaphor that I've been thinking about a lot," Swift said. "My idea was that life itself and who people actually are all can be greatly reflected in how they dance ... I mean, your willingness to dance."

'1989' is available for preorder on TaylorSwift.com. In response to questions about her songwriting process, the deluxe version of the album will include bonus tracks that are voice memos from Swift's phone.

"You'll hear me singing just an idea and a melody and some words, and then you'll be able to go to the record," Swift explained.
