Taylor Swift Says Too Much Sex, Too Little Music at VMAs
Last week's MTV Video Music Awards were a bit too racy for first-time nominee Taylor Swift.
"I think that there was a little too much sex being talked about instead of music," the 18-year-old country star told FOX News of her thoughts on the broadcast.
VMA host Russell Brand has caught heat for making several jokes about sex and purity rings, so famously worn by pop princes The Jonas Brothers, as symbols of abstinence. But despite her rumored romance with Joe Jonas, Swift does admit she admires Brand's humor.
"I think Russell Brand is a great comedian and he's funny," Swift added. "I think that the Jonas Brothers are the most professional people in the music industry. They laugh at themselves and know how to have fun regardless of whether they are being picked on throughout the entire show."
Swift herself knows how to have fun, without getting into trouble. When FOX asked how she manages to avoid the mischief that often goes hand in hand with teen fame, the singer had a very simple answer.
"I wouldn't be a party girl even if I wasn't doing this; that's just not the way I live my life," said Swift. "There are cameras and microscopes now, but honestly, I wouldn't be a party girl either way. That's just not how I am."
