We already knew Taylor Swift was working on a new album, but now the singer seems to have dropped a big hint about the upcoming project. The songstress posted a video of her pressing the number 18 in an elevator, leaving her millions of fans speculating what that might mean.

While many think the number reveals that a new single will be released on Aug. 18, others suggest it might mean 18 songs on the album, or even a potential title.

One thing is certain -- regardless of what the hint means, Swift's new record will be unlike any of her previous four studio albums.

"It’s already my favorite thing that I’ve ever created,” she acknowledges. "As I’ve grown up, the things I’ve written about have completely evolved with how I was growing. I was writing songs about what it was like to be 18, what it was like to be 20, what it’s like to be 22 and now I’m 24 and I’m still writing songs about my life.”

The 'Everything Has Changed' singer says that her music unexpectedly matured while she was writing songs for the upcoming project.

“I’m just stoked because it’s already evolved into a new sound, and that’s all I wanted,” she adds. “I would have taken two years to make that happen, but it kind of happened naturally, so that’s all I could really ask for.”

Swift wrapped up her global Red Tour in June. She is taking time off the road to put the finishing touches on her upcoming album.
