Are the Civil Wars never, ever getting back together? Maybe their latest Grammy win will make John Paul White and Joy Williams see the light! The recently separated duo received their third career Grammy win on Sunday, taking home the trophy for Best Song Written for Visual Media for their “Safe and Sound” collaboration with Taylor Swift, written for “The Hunger Games.”

“It’s appropriate that Taylor thanks us, because we’ve been carrying her for awhile, and it’s tiring,” White joked upon accepting the award, while Swift called her seventh career Grammy win “unbelievable.”

White went on to thank his wife, saying, “I told her 17 years ago when we met that if things went the way I wanted them to that I wouldn’t be around much … and that’s an incredibly a–hole thing to say. She accepted it. I love her dearly with every part of my soul.”

Williams then thanked her husband and baby boy. She gushed about working with Swift and famed producer T Bone Burnett on the gorgeous song. “I really like it when they call. You pick up the phone whenever they call because something fun is going to happen,” mused the angelic-voiced songbird.

“Safe and Sound” trumped Arcade Fire‘s “Abraham’s Daughter,” Mumford & Sons‘ “Learn Me Right,” “Man or Muppet” from “The Muppets” movie, and “Let Me Be Your Star” from NBC’s “Smash.” But Swift and the Civil Wars’ beautiful ballad lost out on the Best Country Duo/Group Performance honors, which went to Little Big Town for “Pontoon.” See a full list of 2013 Grammy winners here.
