Zac Brown Band

The earliest iteration of the Zac Brown Band -- frontman Zac Brown, a drummer and a bassist -- formed in Atlanta, Ga., in the early 2000s. Brown founded his own label, Southern Ground (then Home Grown), in 2003, and the band, to which Brown continued to add members, released two albums independently ('Far From Einstyne' in 2004 and 'Home Grown' in 2005). The Zac Brown Band released their debut single, "Chicken Fried," and their major-label debut album, 'The Foundation', in 2008; the record was released on Brown's label in partnership with Atlantic Records and Bigger Picture Music Group. "Chicken Fried" became the first of three songs from the project, also including "Toes" and "Highway 20 Ride," to hit No. 1. The group has since released three studio albums -- 'You Get What You Give', 'Uncaged' and 'Jekyll + Hyde' -- all of which went to the top of the country charts. While their music is largely considered country, the ZBB aren't afraid to push genre boundaries: "Heavy Is the Head" from 'Jekyll + Hyde' earned them a No. 1 song in the rock world, and in 2013, they released an EP, 'The Grohl Sessions, Vol. 1', with Foo Fighters lead singer Dave Grohl. In 2018, the group also taped an episode of CMT's 'Crossroads' with pop star Shawn Mendes.

Jason Aldean once called Nashville "Hollywood with a touch of twang," and rocker Shawn Mullins deemed Los Angeles "kind of like Nashville with a tan," so it's only natural that the stars from each city would intermingle -- personally and professionally.
