T.G. Sheppard is continuing to fight a bladder infection in a Nashville-area hospital, and his wife, Kelly Lang, says his condition is still critical.

"I hesitate to share this now, but I do want you to know how serious T.G's condition has been," Kelly reports (quote via Country Weekly). "The bladder infection had spread into his bloodstream and is very hard to treat. That being said, it is the reason for his still being in the Critical Care Unit. I feel that he is getting better, but certainly not great."

The "Slow Burn" singer entered the hospital on Friday (Oct. 12), where he has been under constant watch due to complications from the illness. "He was admitted in ICU with a bladder infection that has caused extreme high heart rate," Kelly revealed over the weekend. "He is very weak and they are trying to keep his heart rate down, but it has been a challenge. Thank you for keeping us in your prayers."

The singer-songwriter was scheduled to perform this week at a Mitt Romney event in Columbus, Ohio. His next scheduled appearance is Oct. 27 in Lula, Miss.
