Sundy Best, made up of Nick Jamerson and Kris Bentley, might be a brand-new duo, but they are already making plenty of waves in the music community. The Kentucky natives have released their new album, 'Bring Up the Sun,' which they wrote entirely by themselves.

"The thing is, if we write a good song, we want to keep it for ourselves," Jamerson tells CMT.

"It's pretty personal, writing songs," Bentley adds. "Anyone who can just sit down and spill their heart out, I'm jealous of people who can do that. But at the same time, I'm glad we don't do that."

The guys have had a busy last few months, including working on the album, touring and performing on the Grand Ole Opry. But in spite of the hectic schedule, and living mostly out of a suitcase, they say they wouldn't have it any other way.

"This is what we have always wanted to do -- being busy and playing three or four nights a week," Jamerson explains. "The biggest adjustment is probably just being away from home, but we're doing what we love, and you don't really think about it. Over this last year, we have really figured out who we are because for the first time in our lives we are getting to do what we love more than anything. It's like you're fulfilling your purpose -- doing exactly what you're supposed to do."

'Bring Up the Sun' marks the first full-length record for the pair, who have previously released EPs and demos, but they say they are still learning as they go.

"We are continuing to grow, and we get better off each other," Bentley notes. "We have both grown so much as writers, and I really like the direction we're going in."

Sundy Best will play a series of shows in support of their new album, including three shows in their home state of Kentucky this week, followed by stops in Ohio, Alabama and Florida later this month. See their complete concert schedule here.
