LeAnn Rimes, Darrell Brown and Blair Daly co-wrote "Good Friend and a Glass of Wine," from Rimes' 2007 studio album, Family. Rimes released the song as the record's second single, in March of 2008; it peaked at No. 35 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Below, Rimes tells The Boot about how the tune got its title.

I remember writing down the title in my journal several years [before releasing the song] on a plane ride. I was having a tough time being away from home, and I thought a good friend and a glass of wine could solve many of my problems.

I carried the title around for a long while until it found a home and became what it is today.
