After being arrested for allegedly pushing his girlfriend down the stairs on Monday (July 20), Stoney LaRue says that he will be seeking treatment for his behavior.

The singer posted a message on his Facebook page on Tuesday afternoon, after the news that he had been arrested broke, apologizing for the incident.

"I want to apologize to my family, my friends and my fans for the recent circumstances that have come to light," LaRue writes. "I am going to take some time to work on myself. I will be entering an intensive and extensive program, and I appreciate your thoughts and good wishes for me during this trying time."

Fans comments on the post range from those who are "really disappointed" in his violent behavior to those who "respect" LaRue for his accountability.

"Please check my website and Facebook page for updates on my upcoming tour dates," LaRue adds, "but most importantly, I appreciate your support during this time."

Upon his arrest on Monday morning, LaRue was charged with domestic abuse. He was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail and was later released on bond. His girlfriend of several years, Amanda Winsworth, was the one who called the incident into police and was reportedly scraped up, but she later tweeted a message that said, “The happenings of this incident have been blown out of proportion by the media. I was never struck by my boyfriend @stoneylarue. Please respect our privacy while we fix this matter.”
