Steve Martin just can't sit down and relax. He's such a show-off and rightfully so. He's an incredibly funny guy whose proclivity for making people laugh has just gone on forever, starting with his stand-up comedy act, writing for and appearing on comedic television shows and films -- not to mention co-hosting the 82nd Academy Awards with fellow actor Alec Baldwin.

For 45 years, this frequent host of 'Saturday Night Live' kept his banjo mostly in the background until last year when he embarked on a successful tour with the Steep Canyon Rangers in support of his Grammy award-winning Rounder Records release, 'The Crow: New Songs for the Five-String Banjo.' Last year, the Rangers appeared with Steve on the 'Late Show with David Letterman,' 'The View,' and NPR's World Café, and their tour included performances at Carnegie Hall, the Ryman Auditorium and London's Royal Festival Hall. Once again, Steve has tapped the award-winning group to tour with him beginning April 19 in Detroit. The trek is expected to continue into October.

"I am very excited to begin my banjo tour with the Steep Canyon Rangers," says Steve. "It has been a long time dream of mine to travel around the country with a bunch of guys."

The Rangers' Woody Platt adds, a bit more seriously, "We had an incredible time touring with Steve in the fall. He's a consummate professional who thrills the crowd every night and is so gracious about introducing us and our music to new audiences."
