Stand Up 2 Cancer, the star-studded event to help battle and raise awareness of the dreaded disease, will be webcast live by AOL and PopEater tonight (Friday, September 10). The broadcast will include performances by Lady Antebellum, Martina McBride, Queen Latifah, Neil Diamond, Leona Lewis and Billie Joe Armstrong, and feature appearances by George Clooney, Gwyneth Paltrow, Renée Zellweger, Will Smith, 'Glee''s Jane Lynch and Sam Trammell from 'True Blood.'

Cancer has affected the lives of Lady A's Hillary Scott and Charles Kelley, moving them in personal and emotional ways to be a part of tonight's event. Charles' wife, Cassie's father was diagnosed with colon cancer in July 2009, not long after their marriage.

"It was pretty scary," Charles told E! during a break from Lady A's SU2C rehearsal in Los Angeles. "But he's fighting it right now. They shrunk it down to almost nothing. He's doing really good, right back out working."

Hillary's grandfather succumbed to lung cancer, and now, one of her mom's (Grammy-winning singer, Linda Davis) best friends is battling colon cancer. "She is fighting for her life right now," says Hillary. "She's working really, really hard to fight it. I think so much of it is being able to rally together with your friends and family. Having that fighting spirit of mind over matter, and doing everything you can do to stay healthy."

Lady Antebellum will be performing with one of America's most legendary singer/songwriters who holds a very personal place in Charles' heart, Kris Kristofferson.

"In several interviews people have asked me, 'Who's somebody you want to meet?'" Charles reflects. "And I always said, Kris Kristofferson -- and here we are!"

SU2C will pour 100% of all funds raised into collaborative cancer research -- bringing teams of scientists together to accelerate cancer research, fund innovative science, and get treatments to cancer patients faster. The star-studded fundraiser will also be simulcast live and commercial-free tonight at 8:00 P.M. ET on all four major TV networks -- ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC -- as well as E!, Style, G4 and, of course, on AOL! Tune in here.
