Kix Brooks recently made his starring screen debut in 'Ambush at Dark Canyon,' and to mark the career milestone, he's offering a few lucky fans the chance to win an autographed DVD of the film, and a signed copy of the soundtrack.

The film marked Brooks' first venture into movie stardom, but he's no stranger to acting. The singer-songwriter actually studied the craft at Louisiana Tech University before partnering up with Ronnie Dunn to launch Brooks & Dunn.

“That first day on the set, I know it was like, ‘Here comes the hillbilly singer wanting to be the actor,’” he admits. “And I think they realized I really worked hard and did my homework and got into shape and took this real seriously. After that, the first couple of days, I got the feeling from them that they knew that. And they made me feel like an actor and gave me the confidence to get through this whole movie.”

Brooks not only starred in the film, he also produced the soundtrack, which features a song by Randy Houser. He already has other acting gigs on the books, including appearances in the film ‘Thriftstore Cowboy’ and the mini-series ‘To Appomattox,’ which are both tentatively slated for release later this year.

To enter to win one of ten signed copies of the DVD and soundtrack, simply re-tweet the message below. Ten winners will be chosen at random from all participants. Be sure to read The Boot's official contest rules before entering.
