In 2008, Shania Twain separated from her husband of 15 years, producer Robert "Mutt" Lange, after discovering his affair with her close friend, Marie-Anne Thiébaud. Twain and Lange officially divorced in 2010, and in an interesting twist of fate, the singer married Thiébaud's ex-husband, Frédéric Thiébaud, in 2011. While Twain has left that chapter of her life behind, and is still happily married to Thiébaud, she was open when discussing it on a recent television appearance.

During her March 11 appearance on Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen asked Twain what she would say to Marie-Anne Thiébaud if she saw her today. Staring straight into the camera, with a smile on her face, Twain responded, "I wish I'd never met you."

In her 2011 memoir, From This Moment On, Twain notes that she only saw Thiébaud once after learning of the affair, and she was too nervous to say anything of note.

"You panic in those situations. I didn't know what to do," she says. "I think there are some people in life you would say, 'I wish I hadn't met that person,' or, 'I would have been better off not knowing that person.' But I can't say I'd be better off because I think I've learned a lot from all of that."

Even while promoting her memoir back in 2011, Twain was comfortable discussing the situation and "not angry when I talk about it anymore."

"I’m not even really confused because it’s obvious life just has to play out the way it’s meant to, and how can I complain with the way it ended up?" she told Ellen DeGeneres during an appearance on her show that May. "Of course it was painful. It’s more difficult, to be honest, to talk about other elements of my life with the public, because the divorce and the betrayal was already splattered all over the tabloids without me having anything to do with it, and I’ve already gone through that humiliation and embarrassment. For me, I’ve already gone through that part, in the public, and now it’s easier to talk about than a lot of other things."

Twain will kick off her Rock This Country Tour -- her first in 11 years -- on June 5.
