Scotty McCreery will perform a free, private USO concert for the troops and military families next Wednesday (July 24) at the Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota.

“It’s because of the men and women who defend this country, and the sacrifices of their families, that we are able to wake up everyday with the freedoms that we often take for granted," the 'American Idol' winner says. "I’m grateful to the USO for allowing me the opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to our troops and their families.”

It's been a busy month for McCreery, who is spending much of his summer on the road as part of his Weekend Roadtrip tour. In between a calendar full of shows, the singer also performed at a private Sweet 16 birthday party for Sadie Robertson from 'Duck Dynasty,' and announced he would be joining the entire crew on a 'Duck Dynasty' cruise in 2014.

The 19-year-old is also spending time in the studio, putting the finishing touches on a new album. The USO concert, which is McCreery's first, comes one day before his performance at the North Dakota State Fair. See all of his upcoming shows here.
