Scotty McCreery is going to have to keep juggling school and work as he heads into his sophomore year of college. The 19-year-old singer has just announced 21 additional shows for his Weekend Roadtrip tour, which begin Friday (Aug. 9) and run through Nov. 23.

McCreery conceived the unusual arrangement so he could focus on classes at North Carolina State University in Raleigh during the week. Since winning the tenth season of 'American Idol,' the singer has performed more than 150 concerts, and sold many of them out.

"To have a sellout as a new artist is really amazing for me," he says (quote via CMT). "To have people want to come out and see our show means a lot. When you hear it is a sellout, it hypes you up even more. We couldn't be happier with the way it is going. It's 90 high-energy minutes of new material and country classics combined with video, lights and fan interaction."

McCreery co-wrote his current single, 'See You Tonight.' It is the advance single from an album he is working on with producer Frank Rogers. No title or release date has yet been announced.
