Scotty McCreery Victimized in Home Invasion Robbery

Scotty McCreery and several friends were the victims in a home invasion robbery at an apartment near the North Carolina State University campus early Monday morning (May 5).

According to WTVD in Raleigh, The 'American Idol' season 10 winner and his friends were at the apartment around 2AM when three armed men burst in and took wallets, cash and electronic items before escaping.

A neighbor reported hearing a group of people charging up the stairs.

"All you heard was yelling like 'Who are you? What are you doing here? ' for a good five minutes. It was just yelling," she says.

Minutes later, she heard people running back down the stairs. The police arrived soon after.

"We just thought it was a bunch of college students partying until that point," she adds.

There were no reported injuries in the robbery. Investigators told WTVD that they were working on putting together descriptions of the robbers on Monday.

McCreery is currently attending classes at the nearby university, balancing that with promotional activities for his current album, 'See You Tonight.'
