Scotty McCreery Joining the Duck Dynasty Cruise

Scotty McCreery has made no secret of his fandom for the hit A&E reality series 'Duck Dynasty,' and now he's taking it a step further. The fast-rising young country star will join the cast of the show on next year's Duck Commander Cruise.

Cast member Korie Robertson announced McCreery's participation in a posting to Twitter Monday morning (July 1), writing, "Exciting news! @ScottyMcCreery is going to sail the seas with us next summer on our @DuckCruise ! We're gonna have a blast!"

The cruise departs from Miami on July 17, 2014 on the Carnival Victory and visits Key West and Cozumel before wrapping up on July 21. The entire cast of the show will be on hand for a series of interactive fan events. Prices start at $749 per person. According to the event's official website, it is already 75% booked in advance.

McCreery recently performed at cast member Sadie Robertson's 16th birthday party after meeting her family at a Grand Ole Opry performance. “I was blown away by their hospitality,” he said (quote via Taste of Country). “I like the fact that they are who they say they are; they are who they look they are on the TV show. They are good, normal folks who like to have fun.”
