After 20 years outside the industry, Scott Coner is returning to country music with the release of a new EP.

'Feels Like Friday' is the first project since the Indiana native left Nashville 20 years ago to prioritize and spend more time with his wife and young children.

”I have never regretted taking time to be with my wife and daughters," he says in a press release. "It just never felt right hitting the road and leaving my entire world in the rear view mirror. But, now that our girls are older, and I have my family’s full support, I am truly thankful to be given the opportunity to pursue playing music for a living.”

Coner is an avid songwriter, and he spends a lot of him time writing on his porch overlooking the family farm in Indiana, where he has lived his entire life.

“For me, the process of writing is something that never really stops; it is continual," he says. "All around my house, you can find scraps of paper, lyrics on envelopes stuffed in drawers. The fact is, I don’t know what people want to hear. What I do know is that I am drawn to songwriting. It’s just something that I do. My passion, my addiction, is working with music. Putting that music, melody and a message together are like reaching outside of myself."

'Feels Like Friday' will be available digitally on March 18. The lead single of the same name was recently released to country radio. The single is available for preview and purchase on iTunes.
