Country music is well represented in an upcoming holiday movie, 'Saving Santa.' Moving to the other side of the law, Trace Adkins -- who last played a motorcycle gang leader in 'The Lincoln Lawyer' -- takes on the role of a police sheriff in the new flick. Rascal Flatts' Jay DeMarcus will make his big screen acting debut as a character named Chim Ritchels, according to IMDB. And trying on yet another hat in his illustrious singing/songwriting/acting/radio-hosting career, Kix Brooks is the film's executive producer.

According to the official 'Saving Santa' Facebook page, the flick is a family-friendly Christmas story about a Grinch-like character named Senator Max Schmucker, played by Kevin Pollak, who leads a global campaign to ban the myth of Santa Claus. Sadly, he gains worldwide support, causing St. Nick (played by Abraham Benrubi) to lose his magical powers. So, as Christmas draws near, Santa and his lead elf get stuck in a small farming community and resort to living in a barn. The happy ending comes as two children find Santa and go to great lengths to help him save Christmas.

'Saving Santa' has no official release date yet, but look for it to hit theaters in late 2012.
