Martina McBride and Sara Evans joined forces recently to cover a country classic for the TV series Front and Center.

The performance was part of a CMA Songwriter Series-based episode of the program, titled "Ladies Night Out." The two country superstars broke out their version of Dolly Parton's "Jolene" during the show.

“I’ve known Sara for a long time, and it was lot of fun to get to share the stage with her,” McBride says. “I also loved the fact that we got to hear from the songwriters themselves. Having them on stage with us made the evening really special.”

Adds Evans, "Getting to share the stage with Martina and all of the amazing writers on Public Television’s Front and Center and the CMA Songwriter Series was an incredible night that I’ll never forget."

Another CMA Songwriter Series-themed episode of Front and Center that aired recently featured Hunter Hayes and songwriters Barry Dean (Little Big Town’s “Pontoon”), Gordie Samspon (Carrie Underwood’s “Just a Dream”) and Lori McKenna (Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush”).

“It was really a privilege to be invited to do a performance during the CMA Songwriters Series,” Hayes says. “Not only did we get the chance to do a different show highlighting the songs and stories behind them, but I had the unique chance to share the stage with three fantastic songwriters who I look up to and admire.”

Other episodes will feature Little Big Town, Brandy Clark and Bob DiPiero. Find more information about the show at FrontAndCenter.com.
