Sammy Kershaw has penned several of the songs from his hit albums, but now he is writing about his life in a new, still-untitled autobiography.

The Louisiana native, who signed a global book deal with VIP Ink Publishing, promises to leave nothing uncovered between the pages. The autobiography will cover his impoverished childhood, his marriages and relationships, as well as his strong faith.

Kershaw's new book will be released later this year. More details, including a title and release date, are expected to be announced shortly.

The 56-year-old isn't leaving his music career behind to become an author. He just released his latest single, 'Can't Put My Finger On It,' from his 2013 album, 'Big Hits: Volume One.'

“It felt good to go back into the studio and re-record some of my hits,” Kershaw says of the collection. “The technology we have in the music business now makes them sound much more fresh and updated but the heart and soul is still there in every song.”

Kershaw has plenty of dates on the calendar to support his latest project, including a stop Friday night (March 21) in Alberta, Canada. See a list of all of his upcoming shows here.
