Rodney Crowell's very first Christmas album, Christmas Everywhere, is coming in early November, but The Boot's readers are getting a sneak peek of one of its tracks. Press play above to hear "Very Merry Christmas."

"Very Merry Christmas" is one of 12 tracks on Crowell's Christmas Everywhere. The holiday album features all original songs -- some co-written with Crowell's daughters and granddaughters -- and was produced by Dan Knobler. Crowell's special guests on the project include Vince Gill, poet Mary Karr and more.

“A few years back, it became evident to my family, and indeed myself, that I’d gone sour on all things related to Christmas, a source of particular disappointment to my wife, Claudia, whose creative flair peaked with the holidays," Crowell shares. Then, in December of 2011, the artist heard Hayes Carll's "Grateful for Christmas" on the radio, and it "jolt[ed] me out of a self-indulgent funk [and] tweaked my creative curiosity." That was when Crowell began considering a holiday album.

Christmas Everywhere is being released digitally, on CD and on three different forms of vinyl: one "coal colored" (black and gray); one red and white split-colored (for independent retailers) and one red and green marbled (available exclusively through New West Records and available for pre-order now).

This holiday season, Crowell will be a special guest during Amy Grant and Vince Gill's 12-night Christmas at the Ryman residency. Readers can get details on those shows, as well as the others on Crowell's calendar, at RodneyCrowell.com.
