Rodney Atkins is displaying his patriotic spirit, accepting the role of Ambassador of the Thank You Movement, the world's largest ongoing military appreciation campaign. The 'It's America' singer launched the goodwill project Monday morning (Oct. 25) with an official announcement on the 'Today Show,' followed by a live performance for veterans and military organizations in New York City's Times Square.

In partnership with Applebee's, the movement's mission is to create a conscious outreach of gratitude toward our nation's military through messages posted on www.ThankYouMovement.com, YouTube, Twitter (#thankyoumovement) and Applebee's official Facebook fan page. The project's official website will host a live, rolling counter of messages, allowing active-duty troops and veterans to go online at any time to read the goodwill notes.

Rodney is no stranger to military outreach, having supported the U.S. armed forces and their families through volunteer work, various base concerts and visits to the Walter Reed Army Medical to speak with wounded servicemembers. The singer will embark on a USO tour of military installations abroad in 2012.

Rodney has booked select dates in promotion of his latest album, 'Take a Back Road,' which features the No. 1 title track. Click here for the singer's current tour information.
