Rodney Atkins will celebrate Labor Day in a big way this year. The multi-platinum selling singer will honor the holiday by hosting a country music marathon on AXS TV with award-winning TV host Ashley Eicher.

'AXS TV's Country Music Marathon,' which was shot at Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium, includes concert footage from Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Dierks Bentley, Willie Nelson and the late George Jones.

Atkins is also putting the finishing touches on his upcoming album, which he says is taking him back to the reason he started a career in country music almost 20 years ago.

“It comes down to, what did you move to Nashville to say? What kind of songs did you want to sing?” he explains to AL.com. “The way I started playing music was sitting on the front porch with friends, and taking turns playing songs. I love that kind of feeling, and that’s what I want to bring.”

'AXS TV's Country Music Marathon' will kick off on Monday, Sept. 2 at 12PM ET. Check local listings here.
