Rock legend Robert Plant and bluegrass star Alison Krauss are teaming up on a new album of duets titled 'Raising Sand.' The 13-track compilation will feature the two covering various blues, R&B, country and folk songwriters including Tom Waits, Mel Tillis, Townes Van Zandt, Doc Watson and Plant himself.

Recorded in both Nashville and Los Angeles, the collaboration is a long time in the making. The former Led Zeppelin frontman reportedly contacted Krauss seven years ago to express interest in working with her. A few years later, he made good on his word and invited her to perform with him at a 2004 tribute to Leadbelly at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. The collaboration was so well received that the two decided to do an entire album together, enlisting the help of famed producer T-Bone Burnett. 'Raising Sand' is set for release on Oct. 23 via Rounder Records.>
