Reba McEntire will be honored with the first-ever Career Maker Award at this year's Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame gala. The honor, given to artists who have not been inducted into the Hall of Fame, will be presented to McEntire in recognition of her advocacy for Music City songwriters; the country icon has recorded upwards of 40 songs penned by NSHoF members. “Reba has played a significant role in helping more than 40 songwriters achieve induction into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame,” says Hall of Fame Board of Directors Chair Pat Alger. “That’s about 20 percent of the Hall’s entire membership." McEntire will be presented with the award at the 48th annual Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Gala on Oct. 28.
