Reba McEntire will be wasting no time in the new year. The legendary redhead has announced that she will release a new single, 'Going Out Like That,' on Jan. 6.

McEntire revealed the news on Instagram and Facebook while sharing the single's artwork.

"When you listen to thousands of songs trying to find just the right one to record, a really great song jumps out at you. That's exactly what 'Going Out Like That' did to me!" she writes. "It jumped out because it's a great song with up-tempo sassyness (sic)!!!"

The songstress also notes that her version of the tune will sound a little different than the demo she first heard, which was sung by a man.

"The first time I heard it, a man was singing the demo," McEntire says. "When I sang it coming from a female perspective, it became a woman's power anthem! Sure hope you like it!"

Winner of the Nash Icon Award at the recent 2014 American Country Countdown Awards, McEntire is going to have a busy 2015. She's set for a Las Vegas residency with Brooks & Dunn, and she'll also be releasing a new album on her new label, Nash Icon.

“One thing we are sticklers about is keeping the emotion — not to make it perfect," McEntire says of her upcoming record. "I want it to feel heartfelt — lots of soul with it."

This new project will be the country singer's first album since 2010. McEntire admits that she thought that disc may have been her last, but her husband, Narvel Blackstock, thought otherwise.

“[He] kept saying, ‘No, it’s not; you’ll record again,'" she says. "And I was like, ‘Wow, where’s your crystal ball?’”

'Going Out Like That' will be available via iTunes.
