Reba McEntire has shared an update on her brother Pake's condition after he suffered a stroke late last week.

On Instagram, McEntire writes that her brother is "resting and recovering" and is "still unconscious."

"The doctors have asked that we keep his room as quiet as possible so he can continue to rest," the singer adds. "We appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers."

Pake McEntire underwent a successful back surgery last week, then had a stroke later on the day of the surgery, causing swelling and blood on the brain. On Saturday (May 16), doctors performed a surgery to relieve the pressure on his brain.

After his second surgery, McEntire was in the ICU, but stable and recovering, according to his sister. There is no word about if he has been moved to a non-ICU unit.

Like his famous younger sister, Pake McEntire also had a career in country music. As a child, he was part of the Singing McEntires with his sister, and in the late '80s, he was signed to RCA Nashville and earned a string of charted singles, including his debut single, “Every Night,” and “Savin’ My Love for You,” which hit No. 3 on the country charts.
