Country great Ray Price is still in the hospital, but feeling better after being admitted last week for severe dehydration. A note from his wife Janie offers new details about what sent the 'Make the World Go Away' singer to the hospital initially.

According to a message posted on his official Facebook page, Price was on medication for post-radiation syndrome. The medication caused him to have "extreme diarrhea," resulting in heavy loss of body fluid. After five days, Price has been upgraded to "good and improving daily."

"He is so much better today and is alert and talking," Janie, Price's wife of 45 years, writes. "We have to remain in hospital for a few more days until his strength is better."

She adds, "Ray said to thank you all for your prayers. I am reading him your messages and I can tell you that he is moved by your love and concern for him. So am I."

Price shared the news of his hospitalization on Monday (May 13). According to Web MD, post radiation syndrome symptoms are similar to flu and can be the result of some cancer treatments. Price shared that he'd been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2012, but announced the cancer was in remission last February.
