Ray Price Back in the Hospital With Cancer Complications

Country music legend Ray Price is reportedly back in the hospital after a new round of complications stemming from his battle with pancreatic cancer.

According to Taste of Country, the 87-year-old singer checked back into East Texas Medical Center in Tyler, Texas last Monday (Dec. 2).

“I speak with Ray by phone quite often,” Hall of Fame deejay Bill Mack tells ToC, “and he always retains that Price spirit, even though I’m aware of the fact that he’s going through the toughest health issue of his life.”

Price's wife, Janie, has been faithfully keeping fans up-to-date on his condition via Facebook since he was first diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in November of 2012. He has been in and out of the hospital ever since, first for treatment, and then to deal with the after-effects,which have included dehydration and sepsis.

The country legend, whose hits include 'City Lights,' 'Make the World Go Away' and 'For the Good Times,' has been bolstered by the support of his fans.

“Lots of prayers by thousands of his devoted friends, fans and peers have obviously helped him tremendously,” says Mack, who spoke with Janie Price on Sunday night (Dec. 8). “During our last conversation, he said, ‘Bill, those fine folks seem to love me a lot.’”

The last official update on Price's Facebook page was on Nov. 29, when his wife stated he was recovering after being released from the hospital in time to spend Thanksgiving at home.
